Privacy Policy
Gracely is an Android app published by TNPixel ("we", "us"). The short version: what you write in Gracely stays on your phone and we never receive it. There is no account and we run no server that receives your data. Information about your faith, prayers and conscience is sensitive, so we keep it on your device.
What stays on your device
- Prayer journal (intentions, thanksgivings, reflections, prayers for the departed), parish notes, group Rosary names, progress in novenas, Lent and Advent, works of mercy, Bible reading position and plan, settings and your chosen language and calendar are stored in app storage on your phone.
- Examination of conscience: what you tick is not saved or sent anywhere.
- Calendar, prayers, saints, Bible and audio are bundled with the app and work offline. The liturgical calendar is calculated on your device; Gracely does not need your location.
Optional lock and backup
- Journal lock uses Android's biometric or device-credential prompt. Gracely never receives your fingerprint, face or PIN.
- Backup is optional: you can export the journal, parish notes and progress to one file protected with AES-256 and a password you choose, and save it where you like. We provide no cloud sync and never receive the file. If you lose the password the backup cannot be opened.
Notifications
Reminders for the hours of prayer are scheduled on your phone. They never show journal or other private content, and you can turn them off in the app or in Android settings.
Links and sharing
- Buttons for the daily Mass readings and the Liturgy of the Hours open official third-party websites (for example bible.usccb.org, divineoffice.org, universalis.com) in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
- Pilgrimage places open your own maps app with the coordinates of the shrine. Gracely does not read your location.
- Verse cards and group Rosary plans are shared through Android's share sheet, only when you choose to share.
- Read-aloud uses your device's text-to-speech engine, provided by your device or by Google.
Services used by the app
- Google AdMob shows ads to free users. Ads are not shown in prayers, readings, the Rosary, the examination or the journal, and a full-screen ad appears at most once a day. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers (the Android advertising ID), approximate location derived from your IP address and usage data to serve and measure ads. In the EEA, the UK and similar regions you are asked for consent through Google's consent form (UMP) and can change your choice later. Premium removes ads. See Google's advertising policy.
- RevenueCat manages Premium subscriptions. It receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription status and basic technical information (app version, device model, OS and country), as described in RevenueCat's privacy policy. We do not receive your name, email or payment details.
- Google Play processes payments and provides Google Play services.
Permissions
- Notifications and boot completed: prayer reminders you turn on, restored after a restart.
- Biometric: the optional journal lock.
- Internet and network state: ads and purchases. Everything else works offline.
- Advertising ID: used by AdMob for ads.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account and we do not receive your journal, notes or prayers.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs beyond the services listed above.
- We do not sell your personal data and do not use information about your faith for advertising.
Children
Gracely is not directed to children under 13 and is rated for ages 13 and up. Parents may use the family prayers and children's stories with their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your data by uninstalling the app, which removes everything stored on the device. Backup files you saved elsewhere stay until you delete them.
- Reset or limit your Android advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and change ad consent where offered.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions.
- Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD and similar laws) you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to the processing of personal data about you. We hold no personal profile about you; for data held by RevenueCat or Google, contact them or write to us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above and note material changes in the app or on its Google Play page.
